My Digital Studio Monday – I Love Designer Series Papers

Sample-002
Our challenge on the design team for Utah Divas International MDS Monday was to use multiple designer series papers. This is an easy assignment for me! You should see all the designer series papers I have stashed in my stamping room!

I have made this quilted pattern with a variety of designer series papers with hands-on paper crafting and devised a way to do it digitally. I love, love, love the Holly Berry Bouquet Designer Series Paper and was so happy it was one of the new My Digital Studio downloads last Tuesday. Here is my digital version of the technique. Instead of using the Top Note punch most commonly used, I used my favorite Perfect Label punch. I am really hoping that it will be coming out as a punch in next year's catalog. I also used the Flag punch for the greeting from A Cardinal Christmas. The black dots are from the Hip and Handsome Overlays. I really wanted to get a quilted look on the squares but settled for the dots all over the card. I should have added them to the quilt squares before I imported them into the punch. To order the supplies needed for this card, visit my online store or click on the item names in the supply list.

My Digital Studio Monday – Halloween’s a coming!

Mds monday 10-3-11-001 copy

To get you in the Halloween spirit, the Utah Divas International design team for MDS Monday are to create a card or scrapbook page that is creepy. First I filled the background with Basic Black. Then I created a huge moon using the circle punch filled with Barely Banana color and then decreased the opacity to about 75% to make it a little less bright. Next I used the bat punch and created 5 Basic gray bats flying across the moon. I stamped the tree from the Bold Branches Stamp Brush Set and reduced the size to fit this 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card. I created the sentiment with the Schoolbook Serif Alphabet stamp brush set. As I was doing this, I was inspired to use the o's to create the glowing 'eyes' in the tree. This was a quick card to make and being able to change the size of stamps is one of the great benefits of the My Digital Studio software. Click here to order your own copy. To order any of the downloads used in this project, just click on the name of the download.

Supplies:

My Digital Studio (118108)
Circle Punch from Punch Shapes (118853)
Bitty Bat Punch (122152)
Bold Branches Stamp Brush Set (124212)
Schoolbook Serif Stamp Brush Set (118821)

Thanks for visiting today. I hope this little card gets you in a 'spooky' mood. Do come back to visit tomorrow when I give you the link to the newest digital downloads. Hopefully, Stampin' Up! will have updated the downloads on the front page of my online store by morning.

Until the next time…blessings,

Out on a Limb

9-17-11 sketch          Out on a Limb

OK…I have been stamping and creating using hands-on materials in addition to using My Digital Studio, but haven't had the time to share my projects with you. So I need to get my rear in gear starting with the first major holiday of Fall, halloween. Now, I am not that big on Halloween but did order this Out on a Limb stamp set from Stampin' Up!'s Holiday mini catalog because I can see all kinds of possible non-Halloween cards using this set. I wanted to combine that set with the Designer Frames embossing folders to create this card using last weekend's Stamping 411 sketch. I am really pleased with the results.

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Out on a Limb (123822 wood, 123824 clear)
Paper: Basic Black (121045), Basic Gray (121044), Peach Parfait (119794), So Saffron (105118) and             Whisper White (100730) card stock
Ink: Basic Black Classic Stamp pad (101179)
Other: Ovals Sizzix Originals die (114525), Designer Frames embossing folder (123130), Extra-Large Oval punch (119859). Modern Label Punch (119849), Sponge Daubers (102892), Neutrals Brads (119736)

Thanks for checking out my blog today. Please enjoy a virtual cup of coffee, tea, or cider with me while you browse my blog. To order the supplies to make this card, either contact your local demonstrator or click on the item names to enter my online store. I'd love to be your demonstrator if you don't already have one.

Until next time….blessings,

My Digital Studio – Terrific Tuesday

Hand-Penned Holidays copy

Stampin' Up! released some terrific My Digital Studio downloads today. There are five that have a Halloween theme and there is an autumn themed designer series paper download. For me, the best download is the Hand-Penned Holidays Stamp Brush Set. I love the elegance of the script writing and fell in love with the stamp set in the Holiday Mini. As a matter of fact, it was the first thing I ordered. I combined this stamp brush set with the Spice Cake Designer Series Paper download to create this lovely Thanksgiving card…well…it could be used as a thank you card in general. I used the color picker to select colors from the designer series paper to fill the Perfect Label punches. I filled the Five-Petal Flower punch with the Spice Cake Designer Series Paper 3. Then I double clicked on the punch, moved the paper fill around until the five-petal flower was in the punch, enlarged the flower until it completely filled the punch, and placed it on the upper left area of the card.Click here to see and order today's downloads.

Supplies:
My Digital Studio (118108)
Hand-Penned Holidays Stamp Brush Set (127612)
Spice Cake Designer Series Paper digital download (125610)

Five-Petal Flower Punch from Punch Shapes (118853)
3/8" Ruffled Ribbon – Pool Party (127349)
Victoria Crochet Trim Ribbon (122158)

Thanks for coming by to visit today. Come back again soon.

My First My Digital Studio Video

I am so excited! I have finally figured out how to create a video using Quick Time on my Mac to do screen captures. On this first video I demonstrate how to resize an element on a designer series paper to fit in a punch. However, this video is exclusively for my News From My Digital Craft Corner newsletter. Therefore…you've gotta sign up for my newsletter right now so you don't miss this video. The signup box is to the right and the newsletter is coming out this weekend. I hope you enjoy the newsletter and find it very helpful and informative.

Quick Birthday Card – Easy Events

Easy Event Birthday
Yep…easy is the word for this Easy Events stamp set. It has a stamp for each of a variety of occasions. It is one of the stamp sets we were given at convention. I also used the Petite Pennants Builder punch for added accent. I used two strips of Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper. The patterns are the two sides of the same sheet of paper. This card came together very quickly. That is….if you remember to reverse the second strip of paper before putting adhesive on it, LOL! I had to get out the paper again and cut another strip. :o}

Thanks for coming by to check out my blog. To order any of the products I used in this project, just click on the product name to be taken to my online store.

My Digital Studio – Terriffic Tuesdays

Halloween Card-001 copy
Well, here in Alaska it is still Tuesday…LOL! The new My Digital Studio downloads released for purchase today feature a Fall theme. There are a couple of Halloween stamp brush sets and a couple of different Halloween themed designer series papers. There also are a couple of Thanksgiving and general Fall kits as well as an alphabet stamp brush set. Click here to see the new downloads and order them. They are located on the right-hand side of my online storefront.

Now I like to usually purchase one of the new downloads so I can create possibilities for the download for you. I am not really big on Halloween but felt I shouldn't completely ignore the holiday so I ordered the Pick Your Poison Designer Series Paper – digital download since several of the designs would work well for other times. Since the designs of these papers are quite intricate, the download takes quite a while. I just wanted you to know so you wouldn't try to download it just before leaving the house for an appointment. I had to cancel my download at least twice because I didn't have enough time to get it completed. Yes, you can stop a download and then download the file at another time. To order any of the components I used to make this card, just click on the name of the item to take you to my oline store.

Supplies:

My Digital Studio (118108)
Pick Your Poison Designer Series Paper digital download (125609)
Forever Young Stamp Brush Set (123145)
Torn Edges Stamp Brush Set (118846)
Chat Room Occasions Stamp Brush Set (125159)
Punch Bunch – owl Stamp Brush Set
Circle and Square Punches from Punch Shapes (118853)

Free Stamps!!!!

Free stamps One of the benefits of having your own papercrafting business is having a wonderful and caring company like Stampin' Up! behind you giving you their support and training. Going to the annual Stampin' Up! convention is an awesome experience in so many ways. Not only do you get excellent business training but you meet so many warm and welcoming fellow demonstrators. But…one of the most exciting parts of convention and being a demonstrator is the opportunity to earn, be given, or win FREE STAMPS!

Between my sales efforts during Sale-a-Bration (thank you all my wonderful customers) and convention, I now have 11 free stamp sets. I am good to go for samples for the whole year! :o) But that won't stop me from ordering more. I gotta keep sharing the possibilities of the new product with you all. :o)

One of the sets we were given for attending our classes is this exclusive business stamp set Workshop Words. I used one of the stamps to create these little tags to put on customer orders. The stamps in this set are so cute and will be so useful in my business.

Workshop Words copyIf you love stamping and scrapbooking like I do and if you are interested in earning extra money through owning your own business, then click on this link to learn more about joining my team of demonstrators and give me a call so we can discuss the possibilities for you. I'd love to have you join me. This job is the best!!!

Hoping to hear from you soon…
