Today’s an Exciting Day

Like I said, today’s an exciting day because not only does the new Jan – April mini catalog go live, but it is also the start of Sale-a-bration! There are so many wonderful products to choose from as a free gift when you purchase $50 or more during Sale-a-bration. My favorite is the Flight & Airy designer series paper (162977). This paper will definitely sell out quickly! Order it as soon as you can.

Today’s an Exciting Day Because You Can Earn More Free Product

Here are images of some cards you will be able to make with items from the Sale-a-bration catalog. First up is the Watercolor Melon stamp set (162962) and Sunny Days Designer Series Paper (162974). This designer series paper coordinates with the Bright Skies Bundle (162794) which you can find in the new mini catalog.

Design artists designed these samples with the Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper I mentioned above and the sweet Cradled in Love stamp set (162956).

A bold font Heartfelt Hellos (162964) is another stamp set to get excited about. See it in action below. Look at what Stampin’ Up!’s design artists created with the Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper (162978) which coordinates with the Trusty Tools Bundle (162723) in the new mini catalog. It’s a perfect masculine combination.

Aren’t these cute jungle animals? They are part of the Jungle Pals stamp set (162950) and a Jungle Pals die set (162973) that you can get for free with a $100 purchase.

There is even an embossing folder/stamp set bundle, Softly Sophisticated Bundle (162947) which is free with a $100 purchase. The three cards on the left were created with this bundle. On the right are three projects design artists created with the Detailed Dogwood stamp set (162953). This more detailed stamp set is also free when you purchase $100 in product.

Aren’t you excited about all these possibilities? See why I say today’s an exciting day? Let the fun begin! If you live in the United States and don’t already have a demonstrator, I’d love to have you as a customer. Email me, sue@soggystamper.com with your address and phone number so I can follow up with you and I’ll happily mail you a complimentary catalog.

Fresh New Colors

photo shows Stampin' Up! Fresh New Colors

There are fresh new colors at Stampin’ Up! Every few years, Stampin’ Up! refreshes the basic color families, Subtles, Brights, Regals, and Neutrals and this is the year. In addition to new 2023-2025 In Colors, there are 15 new or returning colors. Check out this video that introduces them.

So you have now seen the fresh new colors. Which are your favorites? Are any of the returning ones a color you were sad to see go? Leave your response in as a comment below. Here is a screen shot of the new basic colors.

This photo is a screen shot of the Stampin' Up! fresh new colors

You will be able to order these fresh new colors in combo packs of the cardstock (both 8 1/2″ x 11″ and 12″ x 12″), ink pads and Stampin’ Write Markers. The new 2023-2024 Annual Catalog sales period begins May 2.

In addition to these fresh new colors, we have a new set of 2023-2025 In Colors. You will also be able to buy combo packages of the cardstock, ink pads and markers. Check them out.

photo is screen shot of the new 2023-2025 In Colors that are added to the fresh new colors

You won’t be able to see these in my online store until May 2 but I encourage you to check out the Last Chance items. The consumables will sell out fast. Some of the items will be discounted starting April 4. You can buy them now at the regular price. There are bundles that are retiring. This does not necessarily mean that the die and the stamp set is retiring, just the bundled price. You can tell which are those bundles because the stamp set is not on the Last Chance list.

Also, the Stamparatus is being retired. If you have been considering getting this, DO! I don’t use mine all the time but is is most helpful when you have solid stamps that don’t hold the ink as well. Put your paper in the Stamparatus, lay the stamp on the paper, pick it up with the acrylic plate, ink, stamp and repeat as necessary. You can stamp over and over again as long as the magnet holds the cardstock still.

I’m excited about the fresh new colors. I hope you are too!

Flash Report! Prices Going Up!

image is of a dollar sign and jagged arrow showing in this Flash Report that prices are going up!

I need you to read this Flash Report because prices are going up. With the new 2023-2024 Annual Catalog beginning May 2, you will see that inflation hits rubber stamping! There will be increased prices on these items:

photo is a list of Stampin' Up! items with increased prices

Stampin’ Up! has been very diligent in keeping price increases at a minimum over the years but the economy and shipping challenges now necesitate them. Yes, I know, living expenses have gotten exorbitant and where will we find the money for our stamping habits. I’m sure we can find a way. Remember that Stampin’ Up! products are of fine quality and you get what you pay for. Yes, we can find cheaper supplies elsewhere, but they won’t coordinate with each other like SU products do and…..you don’t get the expertise and personal service I give.

So my advice to you is to stock up on essentials before inflation hits rubber stamping May 2.

Another thing you need to know is that the 2022-2024 In Color items, inks, papers, embellishments will be retiring. Now is the time to stock up on those colors that are your favorites. You should especially get the ink refills if you don’t already have them. That way, when your ink pads dry out, you will be able to reink them. The retirement list will be coming out in April but refills will sell out quickly so don’t wait until April to order them. There are hints that there may also be a color refresh of the basic color families as well. I’ll keep you posted.

Now that you have read this Flash Report, take time to go through your supplies and make note on what you are getting low on. Also check your wish list for items that quite likely will retire the end of April. Then go to my online store and place your order. Orders placed this month of $50 or more will receive the brass butterflies as a free gift.

New Online Store Opening Today

Front Page of my online store

A totally new Online store opening today! The time had come to update the Stampin’ Up! online store. It had become a legacy and almost a dinosaur as online stores go. Rather than just remodel the store, a completely new platform and design has been developed. The old online store closed today at 12:00 am and the new one opened for business at 7:00 am MDT.

You will love the new store! It has been designed with the new stamper in mind so it is much more intuitive. Some of the product names have been changed like patterned paper substituted for designer series papers. You may find other terms changed as you browse through the store. Images are larger so you can see details better. Another feature is a great sorting function. You can choose to just see stamps that are seasonal, for Christmas, etc.

All your information from the old store will be transferred to this store so you don’t have to enter your address, credit card number, etc. again. However, this is a totally new site with a new URL so any saved passwords and links will not work as they are tied to the old store. You will have to enter your password manually the first time you sign in to the new store. If you have forgotten your password, there is a place to click to get a new password.

When you click on an item, you will see a few cool items:

  • Large photos of the item and samples created with it on the left
  • On the right is an option to choose the quantity and a ‘Add to Basket’ button
  • In the upper right corner of every screen is a shopping basket icon. Just click on it to see what is in your basket.
  • just above the ‘Add to basket’ button is a small heart. When you click on this, you add the item to your wish list. The cool thing about this list is that you can send it to someone else who is interested in giving you a present. This wish list is saved and when you log in again, not only can you access it but you will be reminded of the items on the list.
  • If an item is in low supply or backordered, that is stated under the picture of the item on the pages that show all the items in that particular category. It lets you know upfront the status of the item.
  • As you continue to add items to your shopping basket, once you reach the total purchases that give you Stampin’ Benefits, a button appears that allows you to use the rewards to purchase the item.
  • In the upper right corner there will appear a gift icon. Clicking on this lets you know what gifts you will receive. Everyone who purchased at least $50 in July should see this icon which lets you know you have a coupon available to redeem in August.
  • On the right side is a turquoise button for giving feedback. Clicking on this button gives you the ability to give directly to Stampin’ Up! feedback on the product on the page, on a possible glitch on the page, a suggestion on how to make the page better, or to ask a question. Do use this feature as it helps Stampin’ Up! make this new online store even better.

Once you have finished shopping, checkout is easy. Click on the shopping basket icon. On the left side of the screen will be pictures, name of items, and prices in your shopping cart. On the right side is a large checkout button and places to enter coupon codes and host codes. Once you click on the checkout button, the next screen will give you a place to enter payment, review order, and place order.

I’m really excited about the new online store opening today. i love the bigger pictures and the wish list function in particular. I’m sure you will love it too! This is my birthday month and I am celebrating by giving YOU a package of adhesive-backed snowflakes when you place an order with me this month.

Go check out the new store…and do a little shopping while you are there. 🙂

Stampin’ Up! to No Longer Carry the Big Shot

image says time to say goodbye

Stampin’ Up! to no longer carry the Big Shot. Stampin’ Up! announced last week that they will no longer carry the Big Shot and it’s plates. They are developing a new, improved die-cutting machine. Here is what they announced to us demonstrators:

Die-Cutting and Embossing Product Line Changes
We are making some big changes to our die-cutting and embossing product line that will give us a better opportunity to support the long-term vision we have for the line. While we’ve worked with our current supplier for many years, we’ve had the opportunity to reassess this relationship. After extensive research, demonstrator feedback, and evaluation, we’ve decided to move in a new direction and we’re optimistic about this new course.
Innovation requires risk, and in our pursuit of a better overall die-cutting and embossing product line, we’re experiencing more significant challenges than we originally planned for, including some transition issues like the die inventory problems we experienced beginning in March .
The challenges we are facing moving forward are not insurmountable, but they are taking time to resolve. Because of these setbacks, we will not offer a die-cutting & embossing machine in the 2019–2020 annual catalog. We know this will create some challenges for you, and for that, we apologize. We want to make sure that what we offer supports demonstrators by being high quality, thoroughly considered, and dependable product; we want to take the time to get it right for you and your customers rather than rush something to market. Our product development department is moving with responsible haste to work through this issue, and we will share more information as things are finalized.
However, we will offer new dies and embossing folders in the 2019–2020 annual catalog. Since we’re using a new supplier, the dies and folders will be manufactured differently; this means the way you use the new style of dies and folders will be a little different than how you used the old style. Both the new-style and old-style dies and embossing folders can work with any die-cutting & embossing machine (in some cases, adaptations like shims may be required because the gap between rollers on machines may vary slightly between manufacturers). You may have noticed we’re not referring to these products using names you’re familiar with. Another change required in this transition is to the terminology we use to refer to die-cutting and embossing products.
One of the significant factors in this decision is that instead of working with a supplier who works with a manufacturer, we are moving to a direct-to-manufacturer relationship. This means that we will work directly with the factories who manufacture our dies and folders instead of working with another company who then works with different factories. This gives us greater control and potential in the manufacturing process. Here’s one example of how that will work: having a direct-to-manufacturer relationship will better allow us to implement die and folder ideas we gather from you, our power users. When we gather feedback and ideas from you, we will now be able to work directly with the factories making the products to implement those innovative ideas.
So while the current situation isn’t ideal, we are setting the foundation for greater die-cutting and embossing opportunity in the future.

Don’t get upset that Stampin’ Up! is going to no longer carry the Big Shot. There are still a wonderful selection of dies in the new catalog and the current dies will work in the new machine when it comes. One of the changes in the new dies is that the inside edge of the die fits right up to the edge of the stamped image instead of leaving a narrow white border. When the image is cut, there will be a narrow border around it. This is a benefit in that we won’t have to guess where to place the die to get an even border around the image.
