Father’s Day Card using Botanical Blooms

Father's Day card using Botannical Blooms and Crazy About You stamp sets

As coordinator of the SUDSOL Design Challenge, I posted the challenge of creating a Father’s Day card using a floral stamp set. Let me say right now that I had a struggle with this challenge myself. I ended up using the leaf stamp and the background stamp from the Botanical Blooms stamp set to make the backgrounds of this card. The greeting is from the Crazy About You stamp set.

I wanted a gold border around the greeting so I cut out the label shape from the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits twice, once from Whisper White cardstock and once from Gold Foil paper. When you cut the label out of the foil paper, you end up with an embossed line around the opening. I cut on this line with my paper snips to get the frame. A strip of Gold Foil paper covers the seam between the two backgrounds. You can order the supplies I used for this card by clicking on the images below.

I was delighted to see that both of these sets are in the new 2016-2017 Annual Catalog. Have you seen it yet? I love the cover and am so excited about the exciting new products in the catalog. You can download the catalog here or better yet, contact me so I can send you your own copy to hold in your hands and pour over many times.

Number of Years and Large Numbers Framelits

Sweet 16 Birthday Card usinngNumber of Years stamp set and Large Numbers Framelits Dies

When I bought the Number of Years Stamp Set/Large Numbers Framelits Dies bundle, I had little idea of how often I would be using it. March is a big month for birthdays in our family and I have used this bundle on almost every birthday card I’ve sent this month. This card is for a sweet granddaughter who turned 16 today. I love, love, love the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper with its soft colors and the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper. I didn’t find the word ‘sweet’ in any of my numerous stamp sets so I created it with the Alphabet Rotary Stamp. This rotary stamp comes in handy when you are wanting a specific word that doesn’t come with a stamp set. You can order any of the supplies used for this project by clicking on the images below to go to my online store.

Remember that through March 31st, you can choose a free Sale-A-Bration item for every $50 in product you purchase. You check out the Sale-A-Bration freebies below. Be sure to place your order by March 31st to get these free items!

Botanical Gardens Love

Yes, I love the Botanical Gardens Suite in the Occasions catalog! I actually love each of the items and am having so much fun playing with the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies. The curve of the leafy vine is so graceful and I love the way the petals on some of the flowers can be popped up for more dimension. I created this card for our granddaughter who turns 15 on Monday.

Here is a tip for you: If you want the leaves of the vine to point up, cut them out on the wrong side of your paper. If you cut on the right side of the paper, the leaves will point down as in this card. Be sure to have the solid leaves pointing to the edge you want to cut off. Otherwise you will end up with a very narrow piece of paper.

You can order the supplies I used for these cards below. Remember we are in the last month of Sale-A-Bration when you get a free item for each $50 you spend in product. Also remember my Customer Appreciation Program where you can earn $45 in free product from me. You can see the details here. The Happy Birthday on the second card is from the Sky Is the Limit Sae-A-Bration stamp set which retired Feb 15th. Sorry. 🙁

Wink of Stella

Wink of Stella is my new favorite tool. It comes in Clear and in Gold. Here is a short video from Stampin’ Up! about it.

I used the Clear Wink of Stella (141897) to embellish this first card.

Handmade valentine using Bloomin Heart Thinlits and Clear Wink of Stella

Notice the shimmery hearts? This is what the card looked like before I added the Wink of Stella.

Valentine created with Bloomin' Heart ThinlitsThe Wink of Stella added the touch of shimmer to balance the glimmer of the Red Glimmer paper.

On the next card I used the Gold Wink of Stella (141898) to color the pearls. While the pearls already shimmered some, now they have gold shimmer. :o)

Terrific Tuesday!

Terrific Tuesday is back! Why are Tuesdays terrific you ask? Because on Tuesdays, Stampin’ Up! releases the new Weekly Deals and this week they are really great! Check out this card created by one of the Stampin’ Up! creative artists:

Birthday card created with Party Punch Pack and Confetti Textured Impressions embossing Folder

Notice the little candle on to top of the cake? It is punched out with one of the Party Punch Pack (140608) Punches. Do you love the background like I do? It is created by gently sponging ink on the raised portions of the embossing created with the Confetti Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (140592). The embossing folder has the center area smooth so you don’t have to do anything extra to have that smooth area for stamping. This card also uses the Party Wishes stamp set (wood-140651, clear-140961).

Here is another sample created by Stampin’ Up! artists using the little balloon punch:

Treat bag decorated with balloons punched by the Party Punch Pack

Now why do I bring these up when talking about savings? Well….the Party Punch Pack is one of the items that is in the Weekly Deals this week. Yes! An item that is in the new Occasions catalog on sale for 15% off! Check out all the new Weekly Deals below and click on the images to go order them in my online store.

Remember, this is Sale-A-Bration time and for each $50 you spend in product, you can choose one of the 11 FREE items in the Sale-A-Bration catalog. Also remember my Customer Appreciation Program. That same $50 will allow you to check one of the boxes on my tracking form. When you fill out all 8 boxes, you can choose $45 worth of supplies from me totally FREE. Check out the program and download your tracking form here.

Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Dies

I have had such fun playing with the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Dies in the new Occasions catalog. Here are two new cards I shared my first card made with these dies here. Today I have two new cards to share.

Handmade Valentine card using Bloomin' Heart Thinlits

Handmade Valentine with Bloomin' Heart thinlits dies

On the top one I embossed a piece of Tip Top Taupe cardstock with the Woodgrain Textured Embossing Folder, then layered the heart on it. I cut out the small flowers from Blushing Pink Glimmer Paper. (It is soooo pretty!) Pearl Basic Jewels (119247) were applied to the centers of the flowers. The greeting was stamped with Tip Top Taupe on the banner which was stamped with Blushing Bride ink.

I love the way Stampin’ Up! coordinates their stamp sets and thinlit dies. The die for the banner is part of the Large Number Framelits Dies.

In the second card, the Bloomin’ Heart is cut from Gold Foil paper. Again I added Pearl Basic Jewels to the flower centers. The greeting is stamped with Basic Gray ink.

Finally I did this card along the same theme.

Handmade valentine with Bloomin' Heart on Gold Goil

The designer series paper I used in all three cards is from last year’s Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack. A very similar pattern can be found in the Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack (140548) which is in the new Occasions catalog. I have a tip for you when cutting out these hearts:

Use the new Precision Base Plate (139684) and run the sandwich with the paper and die back and forth about 4 times to get a really great cut. Then use the Big Shot Die Brush (140603) to brush out all the little pieces. You will have to run the brush back and forth over the back of the die cut but it sure beats punching out all the little pieces.

The top card with the Tip Top Taupe background is my favorite of these three. What is your favorite? Let me know in a comment.

To order any of the supplies I used in these cards, just click on the images below to go to my online store. Don’t forget…this is Sale-A-Bration time. For each $50 you spend, you get to choose a FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. You will also get to check a box on my Customer Appreciation tracking form found here.

Number of Years Birthday Card

Handmade birthday card using the Number of Years stamp set

Our granddaughter is turning has turned 17! Yes…I am a delinquent grandma and haven’t gotten a card off to her yet. I love the way this card turned out. All the product used is new except for the inks, Lots of Labels Collection dies, glimmer paper and Whisper White cardstock.

The Large Numbers Framelits (140622) and the Number of Years photopolymer stamp set (140653) can be bought in a bundle (140811) for a 15% savings. However we were given a heads up that the framelits may go on backorder soon. The background is from the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper. This is such a beautiful set of papers! Click on the images below to order these supplies for yourself. Remember that during Sale-A-Bration, you get to choose one of 11 FREE items in the Sale-A-Bration catalog for each $50 worth of product you order. Bloomin’ Heart Valentine

Valentine created with Bloomin' Heart Thinlits

I really didn’t think I needed this Bloomin’ Heart thinlit and it’s coordinating stamp set until I saw a sample created with the bundle that hooked me. This card is not a CASE of that card but this card has made me really happy I got the bundle. I love the banner and the intricacy of the heart. The banner from the Large Numbers Framelits Dies (140622) cuts this banner out perfectly. You can order the supplies for this card below. Remember that during Sale-A-Bration you can choose one of 11 FREE items in the Sale-A-Bration catalog for each $50 you spend in product. If you were to order all the supplies I used for this card not including the Big Shot, you would earn two FREE items. If you also ordered the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, you would get to choose four free items. Now that is a great deal!

The items may be all cards or a combination of cards and 3-D items.

January’s spotlighted bundle is Balloon Celebration/Balloon Bouquet Punch (140609), I created this card using this bundle. It will be one of the cards included in the tutorials I send you when you order this bundle this month. I shared the details of this card on Sunday and now you can also order the bundle. :o)

White Christmas View

Christmas card created with White Christmas stamp set, Hearth & Home Thinlits dies, and Christmas Greetings Thinlits dies

This scene from White Christmas has been sitting on my stamping desk since last Christmas when that stamp set first came out. I am so happy that it didn’t retire so I could use it again this year. I love the versatility of the Hearth & Home Thinlits dies and how so many stamp sets work as the view out the window. There is even a new coordinating stamp set coming out in the new Occasions catalog!

There is an oops on this card. I cut the scene out with the window framelit not thinking about the fact that the window panes would be cut out. I ended up with four pieces of the scene! Not to worry though, they pasted into the pane sections just fine. :o)

This card expresses my greatest Christmas wish this year…may you all and the world rest in peace this Christmas season and the year to come. You will find the items I used in this card listed below.

Gentle Peace Christmas Card

Handmade Christmas Card using Gentle Peace stamp set

Last Christmas, Jan Tinklenberg created a card using this Gentle Peace stamp set and mounted the image on glitter paper after stamping it and coloring it on a window sheet. I knew then that I needed Gentle Peace and this technique for our Christmas cards this year. I have been saving the stamp set all year and finally put ink to it.

One of the best features of Stampin’ Up! products is that they work together so well. This card is a prime example of this. Since the image is a stained glass window, I stamped it onto a window sheet with Black Stazon ink. (I later experimented and the new Basic Black ink also works well on window sheets.) Then I colored the back side with my retired Blendabilities and mounted it onto Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper with Fast Fuze. Finally, I trimmed both layers.

Since this is a church window with light shining through it, I needed a background suggestive of the outside of a church. I considered several options and then remembered the Brick Wall embossing folder I just had to have. A little Tip Top Taupe sponging on the embossed Tip Top Taupe cardstock did the trick. A window box stamped on Soft Suede with Soft Suede ink and the greens stamped  on Mossy Meadow cardstock with Mossy Meadow ink are from the Festive Fireplace stamp set and were cut out using the Festive Fireside and Hearth & Home Thinlits Dies. See what I mean about how everything works together? You can order the supplies I used by clicking on the images below.

Virtual Swap Continues

Yesterday I started a virtual swap for Share an Idea Day. The way it works is that I share my swap card here and on my Facebook page. Then you create a card, go to my /the Soggy Stamper facebook page and share your card in a comment. I am running this swap for a few more days. Here is the card I shared yesterday.

Today, I am sharing a Christmas card I have created for a SUDSOL swap using the same Happy Scenes stamp set and Hearth & Home thinlits.

handmade Christmas card using the Hoppy Scenes stamp set and Hearth & Home thinlits dies

This is actually a shaker card. I filled the shaker part with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I love the way it piles up on the window sill just like snow would and the static electricity on the window sheet attracts some of the glitter like frost. The dog is from the Jingle All the Way stamp set and I cut the bow from Red Glimmer paper using the bow from the mini treat bag thinlits dies. To make space for movement of the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, I used picture mounting tape to lift the top layer.

Can you see the possibilities of this stamp set and thinlit bundle? To order the supplies I used in this card, click on the images below.

Now go add a card to my virtual swap. Go here to share it.
