Did you know that you can cut the cork sheets sold by Stampin' Up! with the Big Shot? Yep, cork and 49 other types of materials. I wanted a quick gift for our daughter-in-law's birthday that I could enclose in a card and made these cork coasters. I have shared the card before as a Stamping 411 sketch response but wanted to include the card along with the coasters as a set. I used the same Just Believe image on the card and the coasters. I cut out the coasters with the larger scalloped square of the Scalloped Squares Duo Bigz die. After stamping on the cork, I used my markers to darken the image. I am definitely going to make more of these coasters. Actually, I am going to teach a class on November 21st at 2 p.m. on quick gifts and gift wrapping. Watch for further information. You can order the materials for these coasters by visiting my online store. Thanks for visiting today. I love receiving happy mail so leave a coment if you like this gift idea.
Happy Holiday Stamping,
Sue

Edited 11-6-10: I forgot to mention that I sealed the coasters with Krylon Matte Finish to protect the stamped images.
I am glad you like this project, Kathy. It is adaptable for any occasion. Be sure to lightly spray the surface with a matte fixative unless you have used all permanent inks like Stazon or craft ink which you have set with a heat tool.
Thanks so much for sharing this idea. I work in an office with 40 people who all expect a little handmade something on their birthday.LOL I believe this would be the perfect idea for both the male and female coworkers. I really appreciate you sharing.
I did seal them with a matte sealant. I forgot to mention that little bit of info. I’ll edit my post. Thanks for asking. I hope you enjoy making them as much as I have.

These are really nice!! One quick question, though, since you used Classic Ink and markers, will the ink bleed if you were to put a cold drink on the coasters and the glass sweats? Should these be used only for warm beverages, like coffee, tea, hot chocolate?
Thanks, Rhonda! :o) I’m glad you visited my blog today.
