The Excitement Builds!

Birthday card created with the Petal Palette bundleI am getting so excited for Jan 3rd when the 2018 Occasions catalog goes live.! You will find so many exciting new products in there to rejuvenate your creativity! My currently favorite set from this new catalog is the Petal Palette stamp set and its coordinating Petals and More Thinlits. You can buy them as a bundle for a 10% discount beginning Wednesday.

I heat embossed the flower image with black embossing powder on cardstock vellum and then colored the image on the back side with Dark Rich Razzleberry and Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. This technique is called ‘stained glass’ and is so easy!

If you don’t have a local demonstrator and would like a 2018 Occasions Catalog, contact me. I’d love to send you one and be your demonstrator. To order the supplies used in this card, just click on the images below to be taken to their spot in my online store.

Another Chance Reserve The Stamparatus!

Stamparatus headerLast month we could order this wonderful new tool for precision stamping but the quantity available sold out in 15 minutes! Wow…15 minutes! Stampin’ Up! was astounded by the huge response to this new tool so they have changed their plan to release it.

The new window for reserving a Stamparatus opens tomorrow, Dec 5 and will be open until Dec 30 no matter how many items are reserved. Then reservations will be closed until the new 2018 Annual Catalog comes out when you will be able to order them from the catalog. Beginning March 19, Stampin’ Up! will ship Stamparatuses in the order the reservations were received (first in, first out) and continue through the next few months and beyond as product arrives in our warehouse. Because shipment dates are based on manufacturing lead times, not all of the reservations made during the December 5–30 window will ship on March 19 (as was previously announced). Therefore get your reservation on Dec 5!

Watch this video to see the benefits of the Stamparatus if you don’t already know about it.

Back From On Stage Live!

Stamparatus header

The most exciting new product from Stampin’ Up! is the Stamparatus! Oh my goodness! We all went crazy when they demonstrated this new and innovative way to precisely position stamps on multiple cards at On Stage Live. The Misti is well-known by many stampers but Stampin’ Up! did not want to just sell Mistis, they designed an over-the-top product to accurately position stamps. Not only does it do this but so much more! Check out this video by Stampin’ Up! to introduce the Stamparatus.

So you are excited like I am?  I was all ready to order one the day after I got home from On Stage. However, Stampin’ Up! is trying a new way to launch a new product. They are trying a reservation system. There are three reservation windows:

  • November 16 at 2 pm MT – November 30, 2017 with delivery date approximately Feb 1, 2018
  • December 5 – 30, 2017 with delivery approximately March 19, 2018
  • January 15 – 30, 2018 with delivery approximately April 15, 2018

The price of the Stamparatus is $49 USD/$65 CAD. You have to provide credit card information at the time you make the reservation but it won’t be charged until the Stamparatus is shipped. You may participate in all three reservation  windows but can only order one at a time. Click here after 2 pm on Nov 16 to place your reservation.

How to Make Multiple Cards Efficiently

It’s time to get started on making your Christmas cards and you have at least 50 you want to send to family and friends. How can you get them created as quickly as possible. I have a few hints for you.

  • Choose a fairly easy design, especially a clean and simple one with a lot of space that has nothing in it except for maybe some dry embossing or designer series paper for the background and a fairly simple focal point.
  • Cut all your card bases at one time.
  • Stamp all your images at one time and then color them and cut them out at one time.
  • Do all the scoring you need at one time.
  • Cut out any die-cuts at one time.
  • Gather any embellishments and have them on hand.
  • Tie all the bows you will need at one time.
  • Then proceed to assemble the cards doing the same step on all the cards and then do the next step on all the cards.

The photo above shows these steps except that this particular card is not a Clean and Simple card. But the steps taken are the same. On the left are the card bases cut and scored. In the middle are all the images stamped and ready to be colored and fussy cut. The greeting has been stamped and will be diecut. As you can see, I have already die-cut two sets of dragonflies. When the pieces are all put together, I will have 15 of this beautiful wiper card created for a swap. I hope this helps you take some of the stress out of making multiple copies of a card.

Order Stampin’ Blends Beginning Nov 1!

banner for Stampin' Blends with start date

Whoohoo! Stampin’ Up! just announced that customers can begin ordering the Stampin’ Blends November 1st. These are alcohol markers in Stampin’ Up! exclusive colors. Unlike Copic markers, you don’t have to be a color scientist to create beautiful works of art with the Stampin’ Blends. You already are familiar with the colors and know what colors go well together. To simplify things, the Blends come in a light and dark version of each color offered. They are similar to the Stampin’ Blendabilities which were pulled from the market due to manufacturing design issues but these Blends have been tested more thoroughly and the design of the pens revamped to correct the pitfalls of the Blendabilities. Another benefit of these Blends is that the price of each color has been reduced from the price the Blendabilities were. Check out the video below.

The colors being offered at this time are

  • Night of Navy
  • Bermuda Bay
  • Pool Party
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Calypso Coral
  • Daffodil Delight
  • Cherry Cobbler
  • Pink Pirouette
  • Rich Razzleberry
  • Old Olive
  • Smoky Slate
  • Crumb Cake
  • Bronze
  • Ivory
  • Color Lifter
