Woot! Woot! Tea Shoppe Card Featured!

Tea for Two insideI am so pumped up! I emailed my Pop 'n Cut cards to Karen Burniston, the creator of the Card Base Pop 'n Cut die (130099) and Dress Form Pop 'n Cut dies. She asked if she could share my card from this post on her I'm Not Left-Handed blog! My card is part way down the page. I am really honored.

I know the dies are rather expensive and you might not want to make cards with a dress form and dress on the card. However, it is a good base for adding other pop up items. I'd love to get you all thinking of other ways to use the dies. Click on the linked item names to order the dies. Then email me your creations using Stampin' Up! supplies and I'll feature them here on my blog.

Until your next visit…blessings,
Sue

Terrific Tuesday – Happy Mardi Gras!

Mardi Gras digital card

Happy Mardi Gras! My business coach challenged us to write a blog post with a Mardi Gras project so here you are – gold and purple beads with crowns and a green, gold, and purple color theme. This project has 24 layers as each bead was created with a circle punch filled with either gold glimmer paper (132917) or Concord Crush color. The crowns are from the Artistic Etchings stamp brush set (124013). I added the greeting using the Dreamer One font in Concord Crush color onto the Perfect Label Punch (127340).

If you want to give digital designing with My Digital Studio a try, click here to order the FREE 30-day trial of MDS2 (130910). I love using MDS2 and love helping others get as much enjoyment out of using the program as I do. There is no risk involved. If you decide you like the program and want to continue to use it order it either as a digital download or on a disc before the free trial period ends. If you decide digital creating is not your thing, just do nothing and the program will expire after 30 days.

Today is also a Terrific Tuesday. You can view the new downloads here. Thanks for coming by to visit. Come back soon!

Until your next visit…blessings,
Sue

Oh Whale! Whalecome Baby!

Oh Whale BabyThis is another card I created with the Oh Whale! stamp set (w-129129, c-129132). The striped scalloped strips of Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper (126922) are left over from a different project. I used the Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (127022) for the Baja Breeze background and for the puffy Whisper White clouds.

I used the Stamp-a-ma-Jig (101049) to stamp 'baby' from the saying 'welcome baby' of the Petite Pairs stamp set (w-122495, c-122497) under the Whalecome! saying of Oh Whale! on Whisper White card stock. This fit nicely in the Ticket Duo Punch (126883).

To order the supplies needed for this project, either click on the links or make a list and visit my online store. Thanks for your business. I really do appreciate it.

Thanks for coming by to visit today. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and spend some time browsing my blog. If you live in the area where the blizzard is supposed to hit, I hope you stay warm and don't lose your power.

Until your next visit…blessings,

Serene Silhouettes – Get Well

Flowers and Butterfly
Supplies: Stamp Sets – Serene Silhouettes (w-127322, c-127324), Perfectly Penned (w-122890, c-122892); Ink – Gumball Green and Regal Rose, More Mustard, Gumball Green, Early Espresso markers; Card Stock – Very Vanilla, Gumball Green, Rose Red; Other – Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies (129021), 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch (119854), Black Stampin' Emboss Powder (109133)

Welcome to The Soggy Stamper blog this Saturday. I hope your weekend is going well. Here is the third card I have created using the Serene Silhouettes stamp set. I love the simple elegance of this card. After embossing the image with black embossing powder, I colored in the butterfly and the flowers with markers. The 1 3/4" Scallop Circle punch fit perfectly around the image. I had originally planned on punching it out with a circle punch. Well…I have a plethora of circle punches I kept out of storage but not the one I needed this time…go figure! I really like it better with the scallop punch.

    Serene Silhouettes – Happy Birthday

Heidi's BD cardSupplies: stamp sets – Serene Silhouettes (c-127324, w-127322), Perfectly Penned (c-122892, w-122890); other – Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (127819), Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies (129021), Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies (127003), Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (119959), Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (113439)

Last week I started a series of cards using the Serene Silhouettes stamp set. In this post I shared the index for this set. Today I have another of the images. I stamped it with Island Indigo ink on Pool Party card stock. Then I ran it through the Big Shot with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing folder. Next I cut the image out with one of the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies. I should have cut it out first and then embossed it because the second pass through the Big Shot flattened the embossing a little bit. I stamped the Happy Birthday onto Very Vanilla card stock and cut it out using one of the Apothecary Accents framelits. Then I embossed it. I don't know why I thought I could do without either the Lacy Brocade embossing folder or the Window Frames framelits because I love them both. They are so elegant. The card base is Crumb Cake.

This card is for my daughter-in-law whose birthday is in early November. Wow…I am being very proactive for a change. Now I have to remember to mail it in time. THAT will be the challenge! If you need any supplies for this or any other project, either click on the links in the supply list or visit my demo online store to place your order.

I have two more cards (at least) with this stamp set so come back again to see them.

    Until next time…blessings,
    Sue

    Serene Silhouettes Thank You

Serene Silhouettes TY cardSupplies: Serene Silhouettes stamp set (w-127322, c-127324), Perfectly Penned stamp set (w-122890, c-122892), Scallop Trim Border Punch (118402), Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper (125409), Very Vanilla and Pool Party card stock

Welcome to The Soggy Stamper blog this Wednesday evening. Today I am going to start a series of cards using the Serene Silhouettes stamp set. Here is the index showing all the stamps in the set:

Serene Silhouettes indexI used Perfectly Penned for the greeting on this card. It just happens that Stampin' Up! is doing a test market of offering individual stamps from selected greeting sets between now and Jan 3. Perfectly Penned is one of those sets. Click on this link SSF_Perfectly_Penned-2 to see the individual price for each stamp in the set and the recommended clear block size to use with the stamp. Seasonal Sayings is the second set in this promotion. Here is the link for that set  SSF_Seasonal_Sayings-1 and the third set is Word Play, SSF_Word_Play. What do you think of the idea? I can see an advantage of being to purchase just the one stamp you like from a set but I rather like getting all the sayings in a set. That way I have an appropriate stamp when I need it and don't have to buy them one at a time.

Thanks for coming by to visit today. Come back tomorrow for another sample using this stamp set.

    Until next time…blessings,
    Sue

How Do You Fix an Oops?

Fall leaves card doubleSupplies: stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes (c-127802, w-115370), Autumn Accents Bigz die (127812), Labels Collection Framelits (125598), Champagne Glimmer Paper (127885), Woodgrain Textured Impressions embossing folder (127821), Fancy Fan Textured Impressions embossing folder (127751),Early Espresso Core'dinations card stock (127848); Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla, and Rich Razzleberry card stock; Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, and Old Olive inks; sponge daubers, brown Stampin' Up! packing paper

Sandi Dailey has created some wonderful fall leaves by sponging color onto the brown packing paper that comes with our Stampin' Up! orders. I think this makes much more realistic leaves than using card stock and gave it a try. The card is similar to one I posted here. I was making a bunch for a swap. When I got to the last card, after adhering all the elements except for the greeting label, I noticed that the fold was on the right instead of the left. Oooppps! What to do? I turned it upside down and have the leaves hanging down and put the label in the upper left-hand corner. I think I kinda like that one better. :o]

Thanks for coming by to visit my blog. Do come back again real soon! Remember, you can order any supplies by either clicking on the links in the supply list or visiting my online store.

    Until next time…blessings,

Bootiful Occasions #3 – Halloween Boot

Cowboy boot cardOn this post, I shared the index for this Bootiful Occasions stamp set (c-126597, w-126395) and have been sharing cards created with each of the stamps in the set. This one is the Cowboy boot. I love the saying "Kick Up Yer Heels"! It works perfectly for a birthday card like this one but I can see it as a Get Well card with a computer generated greeting that says something like "Hope it won't be long until you can…" and then the "Kick Up Yer Heels." I used Crumb Cake for the base of this card and layered a pattern from Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper (126898). The image is stamped on Soft Suede card stock with Early Espresso ink. I cut along the top of the boot to hang a loop of Early Espresso Baker's Twine (123124). The other end is tied around the greeting that has been stamped on Very Vanilla card stock and punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch (126883). I got the punch so I could finish the Make & Takes from convention but am finding it the perfect size to punch out some of our greetings. I'm so glad it can be used for more than tickets.

Thanks for coming to visit today. If you want to get the supplies to make this card, just click on the links or visit my demonstrator online store. Tomorrow I will have the fourth card of this series so be sure to come back to see it.

    Until next time…blessings,

My Digital Studio Monday – Fantabulous You

MDS Monday 9-20-12-001Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); Knots and Ties (131211), Fantabulous You (129920), Day in the Life Digital Kit (128876) Designer Series Paper 9

The other day a question was asked on one of my online groups how to get words printed in a circle using MDS2. It was suggested that perhaps attaching the text to a circular line would work. So….I decided to play around with that and see if I could do it. While my circle is not quite round, I am pleased with the results. Yep…you can write text in a circle! Hmmm….talking in circles am I? I created this card to email to our younger daughter to encourage her. She has a lot on her plate as many mothers with young families do. I felt the Fabulous You stamp brush set expressed my sentiments pretty well. After creating the circular text and the sentiment, I searched through my designer series papers on my computer for one that would make a good background. This one from the Day in the Life Digital Kit works well.

Thanks for coming to visit. If you give creating a circular text a try, email me your sample and I'll be happy to share it on my blog.

    Until tomorrow…blessings,

    Moving Forward Birthday Card

Ryan's 10th Birthday CardEach year, Stampin' Up! designs a stamp set specifically as a fund-raiser for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. This year's stamp set is this darling Moving Forward (w-126320, c-126322). For each set purchased, Stampin' Up! will donate $3 to this charity. I used the bird and the blimp to create this birthday card for our grandson's 10th birthday. The background papers are Summer Smooches Designer Series Papers (125409). I used the new Duo Ticket Punch (126883). Order this darling stamp set and give to Ronald McDonald Charities through Stampin' Up!

My Digital Studio Monday – A Video At Last

    J&C's Anniversary card-001
A couple weeks ago I shared this anniversary card on my MDS only blog, My Digital Craft Corner and said I would make a video showing some shortcuts I used in making the card. Check the blog post here for the details of the card. I finally finished the video tutorial! Wahoo! This is only my second video so I still have a lot of 'uhs' and 'ummms', sorry. I hope you enjoy it and find it helpful.

Thanks for watching it and for visiting The Soggy Stamper today. Do come back soon.

    Until next time…blessings,

    Four Frames Wedding Card

Petite Pairs Wedding CardThis stamp set, Four Frames, is one I had to keep out from storage when we packed up our house. It is not a new set as it came out in the Occasions mini catalog two springs ago. I love it though because it coordinates so well with the decorative label punch. The Petite Pairs stamp set greeting fits into the decorative labe punch perfectly. Then I went to my punches to see what would work to punch out the second part of the greeting. Guess what? The larger of the two tickets on the Ticket Duo punch works just right. I bought the punch to finish the Make & Takes from convention but hadn't used it yet. I'm so happy to find another use for the punch. I ran the Pink Pirouette card stock through the Big Shot with the Fancy Fan embossing folder, then wrapped a piece of 5/8" Victoria Crochet trim around it. The labels are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The supplies I used are listed below. If you don't have some of them, you know you will need them so just click on their names to take you to my online store. Or…you can make a list and then visit my store here.

My Digital Studio Monday – Celebrate Any Day

    MDS Monday 9-3-12 original-001   MDS Monday 9-3-12-001

    Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); EmbellishmentsCelebrate Any Day Greeting Card Templates (127757) – crosshatch 2 ; Staple & Stitching/Whisper White – Stitching Straight (118865); Stamps – Designer Kits/Celebrate Every Day/Celebrate Every Day – decorative frame; Designer Kits/Celebrate Every Day/Celebrate Every Day – thank you; Punches 1.25 Square Punch from Punch Shapes (118853), Decorative Label Punch (123951)

Welcome to my blog today. I wanted to feature one of the Designer Template digital downloads and how you can customize them with just a few changes of color or wording. This Celebrate Any Day Greeting Card Templates kit has cards already designed for a variety of occasions. It also has a 24 piece svg stamp brush set and 15 embellisments. What is even better is that it comes with MDS2+! Well, if you haven't ordered MDS2+ look at what you are missing out on. Furthermore, you are missing out on the ability to recolor designer series paper. I am not particularly fond of More Mustard so I changed the designer series paper to Midnight Muse. I also changed the greeting and frame to Midnight Muse.

This is a very quick way to come up with a greeting card that has been quickly customized. Of course, you could click on create your own and take total creative responsibility. Check out the templates that come for the different shapes of cards and scrapbook pages. You might find several you love and use again and again. At least you will get ideas from Stampin' Up!'s concept artists. Let me know in a comment which card you like better, the designer one or my recolored one. If you choose to take the challenge to change around one of the designer cards in this kit and send me a photo of both the original and your customized one, I'll post it on this blog.

Tomorrow is Terrific Tuesday with new MDS2 downloads. Visit my MDS2 only blog, soggystamper.com, to see which ones I think are terrific.

The September issue of The Soggy Stamper Newsletter also will be published tomorrow. If you are already a subscriber, tell your friends to subscribe. If you haven't subscribed yet, just fill in the box to the right so you can begin receiving exclusive projects and tips designed just for you.

    Until next time…blessings,

    Terrific Tuesday Revisited

In yesterday's post, I showed you this stamp brush set from the Lovely Little Labels Kit but said that my muse had left the house.

    Lovely Little Labels index
My muse returned on the flight between Seattle and Denver. What a great way to spend 2 1/2 hours captivity…playing with MDS2! It must have been the 30,000 ft altitude because the muse came up with this quirky anniversary card for my husband.

    Terrific Tuesday 8-28-12-001Supplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910), Lovely Little Labels Kit (131231), Love Letter Designer Series Paper patterns 3, 4, and 8 (124102), Calendar Basics Digital Kit (118120), Tasteful Trim Shape 2 punch (123997), Tasteful Trim Shape 3 (123998)

In case you can't make sense of the saying, it says "since (cents) you hold the key to my heart, I love you."  Ron got a chuckle out of the card. I was sitting on the plane in the row behind him and I passed my computer up for him to see it.

Have you given MDS2 and digital card-making and scrapbooking a try yet? It has several advantages over traditional stamping:

    • Once you have purchased the software, the downloads are relatively inexpensive and do not ever retire.
    • There is no getting supplies out and cleaning up the mess afterwards.
    • Space for crafting and storing stamps, papers, embellishments, and punches is no larger than your computer's footprint so you can create in a small area.
    • If your computer is portable, you can create on vacation, in a plane, out camping without hauling along supplies.
    • With MDS2, stamp sets are resizable both smaller and bigger to fit your creative purposes.
    • Printing at home can be done but sending your creations out by email to Stampin' Up!'s professional printer is easy and you get professional binding for calendars and photobooks. AND until Sept. 14, printing of photobooks, scrapbook pages, cards, and tags is 31% off. There are 31 digital downloads that also are 31% off. Click here to see the list and place your order.

To give MDS2 a Free 30-day trial click here and begin the adventure. I am available by email 24/7 to help you along the way. I look forward to sharing this great adventure in creativity with you.

    Until next time…blessings,

My Digital Studio Monday – Nautical Expedition Anniversary card

Card 8-27-12-001 copySupplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910), Nautical Expedition Designer Series Paper (124111). Lots of Tags Shape 3 digital punch (124441), Fancy Fan stamp brush set (127348)

Welcome to The Soggy Stamper blog this Monday morning. Tomorrow Ron and I will celebrate 48 years of our married journey together I created this card with MDS2 and will print it out to create a hybrid card for him. The journey has had its good times and times of trouble but through it all has been our love and respect for each other. That, along with a strong trust in God, is what makes the journey a joy.

I chose the tall ship image to give the sense of our journey. It is on the Nautical Expedition Designer Series Paper -1. I filled the Lots of Labels – 3 punch with the dsp. Then I shrank the design on the paper and repositioned it so the ship fit. The base of the card is Crumb Cake card stock. I added a square punch stretched to make a rectangle and color-filled it with one of the colors in the dsp using the color picker. To add dimension to the rectangle, I added the Fancy Fan stamp, colored it the same color as the background, and added a black drop-shadow of 100% blur and 25% opacity.

Thanks for coming by today to visit. Tomorrow is Terrific Tuesday so be sure to check back to see what downloads catch my fancy.

    Until next time…blessings,
