MDS Content Discs Retiring

RetiredListPromoUS

Each year, Stampin' Up! releases lists of stamps and accessories that are being retired to make room in the new catalog for exciting new product. The lists were posted today and the MDS content discs from the 2012-2013 catalog are being offered at 60% off. All items are only available as long as supply lasts so it is urgent that you go check out the lists now and place your order right away. I'd hate for you to decided you wanted something only to find out it was already gone. While you are at it, check out the other retiring items as well. There are some really neat embellishments that would be perfect for hybrid pages and cards but they will be no longer available soon! Click here to go check the lists out

Happy Shopping,

10 Reasons to Love MDS

Se Ya Next Year Digital Kit
10. You can change your mind without ruining any supplies.

9.  You can see if you have a particular download by using the global search feature.

8.  You can enlarge or minimize photos within a photoframe.

7.  You can create curved text by attaching it to a shape.

6.  Your photos are already on your computer so you don't have to print them out first.

5.  You can change the size of the pattern on designer series papers.

4.  The downloads are inexpensive so you can have a large collection of stamps as     many of the stamp brush sets are the same as sets in the annual catalog, just print them out and layer on your traditional project.

3.  If the stamp brush set is a .svg file, you can change the size of the stamp to fit your needs. With a traditional stamp you have only one size available.

2.  Your studio is highly transportable and only takes up the space of your computer's footprint.

And….

1.  There is no cleaning up when you are finished working on a project!!!

Have you tried My Digital Studio yet? If not, click here to order your download. It is only $19.95 and you can start creating digitally within minutes. I'd love to help you get started.

Hey…It’s the last day!

Playful Polka Dots
It’s the last day to get the FREE Playful Polka Dots digital download! If you have been procrastinating, go do it now! Click here! Then come back and the rest of this post.

I used Regal Rose card stock for the base of the card. A very interesting thing happened when I tried Rose Red as the background. Check out the card below and see if you see the difference besides the color of the background.

Playful Polka Dots
Yes, the white of the scalloped border looks like a lace border! All of the embellishments on this card are part of the Playful Polka Dots download. I love the cheery colors and patterns. The center of the Pumpkin Pie flower is actually a different flower I shrank in size and layered over the larger one. It was just chance that when I added the two flowers to my work space, they ended up on top of each other. I really liked the effect so kept them that way.

Several have asked how to find the various parts of a digital kit once you have downloaded it. The pieces do get filed into different places depending on what they are. Designer series paper is in a file with the dsp, embellishments are in a different file. The easiest way to see all the parts of the digital kit is to use the global search feature found in the lower left corner of your program. Just type in the name of the kit and you will find all the pieces.

Today is also Terrific Tuesday because we get wonderful new downloads on Tuesdays. Click here to see the new downloads and place your order. Come back tomorrow to see what I do with the new downloads.

Supplies:  MDS digital download (130646), 30-day Free Trial of MDS (130910)

Happy Birthday, Harry Houdini

Harry HoudiniToday is the anniversary of the birth of Harry Houdini. Houdini is famous for his ability to escape from any amount of chains and bindings, even being bound up with chains and being held head down in a tank of water.

You, too, can be an escape artist! How? By spending time creating beautiful cards and other art projects using rubber stamps, ink, scissors, glue, and card stock. Yes…you too can escape the humdrum or hectic pace of your life for a while and enjoy the creative process of rubber stamping.

I would love to show you how so check out my class schedule or gather some friends and I'll come to your house and hold a workshop for you.

Thanks for stopping by today. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and take a break while you browse my projects. If you like what you see and want more inspiration, subscribe to my monthly newsletter by filling in the box to the right.

Terrific Tuesday – Top Notch Woodcuts

Top Notch Woodcuts scrapbook page

I love this template from the new digital download Top Notch Woodcuts (133896)! I had hoped that the small triangles were a stamp brush set but they are Freehand Frames – triangles. Each one was copied and pasted by the Stampin' Up! designer! Wow, what a lot of work they did. I had planned on using the pieces to make an original scrapbook page for this photo of one of our great-grandkids after showing the template as it downloaded. However, I like this one so much that all I did was to resize it from 12" x 12" to an 8" x 8" page and to change out the woodcut over the photo from 'awesome' to 'True Story'. Click here to see the other new downloads for today.

One thing I absolutely love about MDS is that you can change your mind repeatedly and not be wasting card stock. This template comes as a 12 x 12 page. I don't have a printer that can print out that size so I first changed it to 8 1/2" x 11". I didn't like that so I changed it back to a 12 x 12. Then I changed it to 8" x 8" which worked out well. All this changing took maybe 5 minutes, just a fraction of the time it would have taken in traditional scrapbooking!

Time is running out for my virtual workshop! Place your order for $50 or more and earn a free Sale-a-Bration item. There are 2 digital content discs, Lemonade Stand and Big Sale-A-Bration, among the many free items. For every three $50 orders, I will draw a mystery hostess from the names of those placing orders. Place your order through my online store. After you put your first item in your bag, a box in the lower left corner asking if you have a hostess code. Enter this code there. 3SWVFAE2

Thanks for stopping by to visit today. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and take a break from your day to browse my blog. If you like what you see, subscribe to my newsletter by filling out the form to the right. Once a month I will email you the News from My Digital Craft Corner newsletter and a short mid-month email about some special or a tip or video I think you would like. Swallowtail Butterfly

Swallowtail Butterfly downloadSupplies: MDS2+ (130646), MDS2 (130644), MDS2 upgrade (130650), or 30-day FREE trial of MDS2 (130910); Background – Wisteria Wonder; Stamp Brush Sets – Swallowtail Butterfly (133011), Natural Composition Overlays – 12 (130855), Thoughts and Prayers – Thinking of You (comes with MDS1); Embellishments – Timeless Taffeta Trimmings (131329)

This card is a good one to make for those just starting out with MDS2 as there are very few steps in making it. I started with a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" portrait card and added Wisteria Wonder card stock. Then I applied this lovely lacy Natural Composition Overlays pattern 12 and colored it Very Vanilla. I was pleasantly surprised at the results. Next I added the Swallowtail Butterfly which was a new download last week  and resized it to fit on the card. I changed the color to Whisper White and rotated it. I added the greeting from Thoughts and Prayers leaving it black.

As a final touch I added the large bow and the ruffled bow from Timeless Taffeta Trimmings. I left the ruffled bow its original size and just moved it over to a section of the ribbon that was straight. That set of embellishments does not come in Wisteria Wonder so I started with Crumb Cake and recolored them with Wisteria Wonder.I have a couple of friends who are starting cancer treatment this month. This is a perfect card to make into a hybrid card to send to them.

Click here to see the rest of last week's downloads and here to see this week's downloads and order the ones you love.

I’m Baaackkk!

Sunshine & Sprinkles

Sorry I was missing in action for so long. I was responsible for a craft project at a Christian Women's Retreat last Saturday and had to prepare project kits for 16 ladies. We made a darling suitcase memory box. The project was a little more detailed than was possible to finish in the allotted 45 min. Fortunately, I had typed up directions so they can finish their boxes at home. A great time of fellowship, spiritual inspiration, and fun was had by all. The theme was Journeys and the decor was filled with all kinds of maps and suitcases. There were food demonstrations from a variety of countries and crafts from many countries as well.

Now on to some digital creating. When the wind blows here, it really blows! It blows so hard that the dogs' ears get blown inside out when we take our walks. I finally got a great picture which begged to be scrapped.

I love the Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper (130670) and the clouds pattern suggested a windy day to me. I filled the Thought Window Punch from Celebrate Any Day Greeting Card Templates (127757) with Very Vanilla color and reduced the opacity to 80%. The title was created with the Love Birds Alpahbet and Numbers stamp brush set from the Love Birds Digital Kit (124443). I used the Handwriting – Dakota font for the journaling.

I am trying to build up the number of people who 'like' my business FaceBook page so that I can qualify for FaceBook Insights. Please go like my page if you haven't done so already. Thanks!

Thanks for stopping by to visit. Come back tomorrow to see what new downloads catch my eye.

Until your next visit…blessings,
Sue

Happy Valentine's Day to you all. Yes, I am a little late with this post but I still wanted to send wishes to you. I pulled out all the stops…err hearts in my arsenal of stamps, punches, and embellishments. After getting the card created, I felt he background was a little blah so I added the Natural Composition Overlays – 11 stamp brush in Basic Black.

I expected my dh to have forgotten Valentine's Day because he has been so focused on getting the school budget built for next year and revising this year's budget. But he did good!!! He came home with a very sentimental Valentine's Day card that totally describes our love and life together AND a dozen red roses! It has been years since he has brought flowers home for me.

So I hope all of you, married or not, have had a day filled with love of many kinds.

Hugs and blessings,

Terrific Tuesday – Happy Mardi Gras!

Mardi Gras digital card

Happy Mardi Gras! My business coach challenged us to write a blog post with a Mardi Gras project so here you are – gold and purple beads with crowns and a green, gold, and purple color theme. This project has 24 layers as each bead was created with a circle punch filled with either gold glimmer paper (132917) or Concord Crush color. The crowns are from the Artistic Etchings stamp brush set (124013). I added the greeting using the Dreamer One font in Concord Crush color onto the Perfect Label Punch (127340).

If you want to give digital designing with My Digital Studio a try, click here to order the FREE 30-day trial of MDS2 (130910). I love using MDS2 and love helping others get as much enjoyment out of using the program as I do. There is no risk involved. If you decide you like the program and want to continue to use it order it either as a digital download or on a disc before the free trial period ends. If you decide digital creating is not your thing, just do nothing and the program will expire after 30 days.

Today is also a Terrific Tuesday. You can view the new downloads here. Thanks for coming by to visit. Come back soon!

Until your next visit…blessings,

Katie and Bandit – Convetion 2012 Photobook Template

Convetion 2012 Photobook Template
If you have a toddler and a dog in the house, you are quite familiar with the scene in this photo. Heck, we don't have any kids at home but our two very spoiled dachsies sit right at our feet during a meal hoping we will drop a tidbit or share our people food with them. They think almost all people food is a delicacy. :o)

I love the contrast between the shadow in the foreground and the light on our darling great-granddaughter and her dog Bandit. I also love the chalkboard designer series papers and stamps in the Convention 2012 Photobook Template download  (130971) so I used them to highlight this wonderful photo. If you haven't already purchased this download, I urge you to do so by clicking on the link. I think you will love it too. BTW, I used the Chalkduster font for the text.

Thanks for coming to visit today. Come again tomorrow to see what new digital download I choose to highlight.

Until your next visit…blessings,
Sue

MDS2 + Baby Onsies

Onsies

Did you know that you can use MDS2 to adorn clothing and home decor items? I needed a baby shower gift and the theme of the nursery was owls. There are not many baby items featuring owls in the stores in our town so MDS2 to the rescue. I used the owl embellishment from the Play Date Embellishments digital download (123433) and the branch from the Extra-Large Two-Step Bird Punch (122131) for one of the onsies. I used the MDS2 feature of attaching text to a line to create the wording "Owl – ways Love You." For the second onesie, I used the owl embellishment from the Storytime Ensemble (127195) and the "owl" stamp that is included in that ensemble.

I grouped each owl and its parts then copied and pasted so I had two of each image on my 8 1/2" x 11" paper to economize on transfer paper. I printed it out on a piece of copy paper to check the size of the images, adjusted them to fit on the onsies, and then printed it out on Avery 3271 ink jet Light Fabric Transfers. When you print the page out, be sure to print it as a mirror image so that your wording comes out correctly.

Once printed on the transfer paper, cut the images out and follow the directions that come with the transfer paper.

These onsies were a big hit with the mom-to-be. The were four onsies in the package so I have two more all ready to give at the next baby shower I attend. To create these images for yourself, just click on the linked download names.

I hope this has widened your visions of how you can use MDS2 beyond creating digital cards and scrapbook pages.

Until your next visit…blessings,
Sue Erickson
